Nowadays, apparel plants decrease their quality defect rates, therefore they can become more advantageous in the conditions of competition. This study is done for determining factors which increase quality defects in the sewing department in apparel plants and for planning their development studies. Research data is collected from an apparel plant which produces clothes consist of knitted fabric and the effects of operations, workers, type of machines and repeat numbers on quality defects in this apparel plant during sewing stage are researched. Correlation, Oneway Anova and Duncan methods are used for statistical analysis. They are determined that operations, workers and repeat numbers affect quality defect rates in this apparel plant at the sewing department, however types of machines do not affect. According to results of search, precedences in development studies in this apparel plant are determined.
